"Clay Batik"

This line of work is an adaptation of our glazing process. Using several new techniques the decoration has evolved from simple repetitive designs to include images of birds, fish, marine and celtic designs as well as local scenery.

The use of wax resist to preserve the various coloured sections in the design is similar to the Javanese method of fabric printing known as "batik" so we have named this line of work "clay batik".
